Transit-Center
St Petersburg, Russia
a partnership since 2005

A center for abandoned and runaways.  Houses children and teens from the former Soviet Union, who have found themselves abandoned and abused by their parents.
SunErgos is working alongside the Transit Center's Staff - enabling, empowering and giving hope.

Since 2005, each summer SunErgos International hosts summer camps for children and teens.  This ministry is possible through international teams and local volunteers.
California Baptist University Team, Summer 2008

In 2006 doors were opened for SunErgos Staff to start a weekly ministry at the Transit-Center.  Twice a week a group of young Christians visits this location, to spend time with the children and teens.  "We talk about life issues and share about Jesus; play games, do crafts and interact with the children."

Most of the kids come from broken homes; some ran away and others were brought by the police.  Each child stays at the Transit-Center until all of their paperwork is in order and then each one is sent back to their place of birth: to their family or an orphanage.  This process may take a month or a few years.  Some of the kids do not know how long this will be their home...

The Transit-Center has moved to a bigger and better location!  Going from a small 2 story building to a spacious 5 story location!  Everyone is excited for the move! The children and teens will have bigger bedrooms, a gym, numerous classrooms and so much more space to relax or play games.  We are excited for this new facility for the children!  To see pictures, visit out BLOG...

June 1st, 2009 - International Children's Day

Each year on June 1st the World stops to remember children at risk - abused, abandoned and orphaned.

This year, SunErgos took part in the celebration on Palace Square in St Petersburg, Russia. Twenty children and teens from the Transit-Center were given permission by the Director to come with us to celebrate this special day.

The sun was shining, thousands of children smiling, laughing and enjoying the activities in their honor on the main square in the city.

A true blessing for the staff of SunErgos and the teams from California Baptist University who took these kids to this fun filled place.

God works in miraculous ways!

Christmas 2006 and 2007, our kids came to the local Nazarene church for a Children Christmas Program.

In the Russian culture, each New Year the kids go to a special performance, called "Yolka", translated as "New Year Tree" celebration.

After a successful celebration in 2006, in 2007, with the help of the youth group from the Nazarene Church, we had a "Yolka" celebration for the kids at the church!

We shared the birth of Jesus, played games and had fun with Santa and Snyegurochka (Santa's granddaughter).
